ARBOR OCCUPATIONAL MEDICINE was started in 1992 by Dr. Sander Orent, a Board Certified Occupational Medicine and Internal Medicine specialist in Boulder, Colorado. The Boulder clinic grew quickly into a thriving practice due to the ARBOR staff developing working relationships with employers while meeting the medical needs of their employees. A Broomfield and Denver (Greenwood Village) clinic were added in 1997 and 1999 respectively to become the ARBOR OCCUPATIONAL MEDICINE Network. Communication between the clinic staff with patients, clients, case managers and insurance staff became the cornerstone of ARBOR’s success. In February 2013 an ARBOR office was opened in Longmont, Colorado resulting in a four clinic occupational medicine network. The ARBOR staff has worked with a wide range of employers such as municipalities, universities, school districts; retail, wholesale, manufacturing, construction industries, and biopharmaceutical companies. The ARBOR staff has also specialized in supporting fire departments and has worked closely with many large fire protection services on the Front Range of Colorado. The Boulder ARBOR clinic is still a designated medical provider for one of its very first employer/client from 1992.
Today, the overarching philosophy of the practice is to keep employees working safely and efficiently, and to restore health and function to those employees injured on-the-job. ARBOR’s treatment approach is to provide active rehabilitation, teaching proper body mechanics and ergonomics, performing careful causality analysis, and maintaining effective communication with employees and employers. We are certified specialists in the field, and perform all aspects of occupational medicine including: injury treatment, prevention education, toxicological and fitness for duty evaluations, medical and hazardous materials surveillance, pre-placement physical exams, drug testing and forensic examinations.
